ABOUT US
The South Florida Community Land Trust is a nonprofit developer that partners with municipalities and local organizations to create quality, sustainable and permanently affordable housing for low-income and working families and individuals and those vulnerable to being displaced from their communities by market forces.
Committed to making prosperity more equitably available to all, we develop ownership and rental properties in a variety of neighborhoods across Broward and Miami-Dade, in established areas as well as ones that have been historically divested.
We create paths to homeownership for first-time buyers and provide support to families so they can maintain housing stability. We are convinced South Florida’s character, history and future is shaped first and foremost by the its people and their culture, and driven by an enduring core belief: that everything important— education, jobs, health, prosperity, a bright future—starts at home.

Executive Director, Mandy Bartle
Mandy Bartle is an innovative leader with a proven track record of building affordable homes for both ownership and rental. Early in her career, she published over 30 reports identifying strategies for distressed areas, resulting in more than $60 million in revenue and over $1 billion in investment within South Florida’s underserved communities. In 2005, she organized South Florida’s first regional housing conference, the first countywide housing needs assessment, and the first coalition of businesses, community groups, and government to address affordable housing. These efforts led to the formation of the SFCLT, where she has served as the founding Executive Director since 2010. Under her leadership, the organization has developed in more cities than any other land trust in Florida and currently has 475 units in the pipeline. Mandy holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urban Studies from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also completed graduate coursework in Public Policy and Management.
